Corporal Kate Ballard is an avionics systems technician with the Royal Canadian Air Force, currently working as Technical Coordinator with the SNOWBIRDS! Yep, you read that right - Kate is responsible for keeping Canada's most iconic aerobatics team in the air. Not only does she hold down one of the most competitive and challenging positions in the Canadian Forces, but she also plays the trumpet and French horn and is one of the smartest and most genuine people we've had the pleasure of hosting.
Kate takes us through so much cool stuff: her day-to-day responsibilities while on tour cross-Canada with the Snowbirds, some of the unbelievable history of the squadron, her role in the incredible Operation INSPIRATION, what it feels like to fly wingtip to wingtip, and the secrets and mystery behind naming the planes. Plus, we can't help gushing a little bit about our love for Moose Jaw, SK (where Kate and the Snowbirds are based), Brandi and Kate bond over band pranks and the horrors of basic training, and Kate fills us in on the art of packing for tour in a tiny jet.
