Amy Hef is an Alberta-based rocker whose music has earned placements in shows like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", "Vanderpump Rules", and other MTV programming. She's the youngest of five children and was raised within a deeply religious family - but Amy is now recognized as one of the few out and proud queer musicians in the province.
We chat with Amy about the many blessings and curses of radio competitions, exactly how far you can stretch a dollar as an indie musician, and why Canadians (and women the world over) need to stop being so damn humble all the time. Amy gets real about all the emotion behind her "pray the gay away" upbringing and her relationship with her very Catholic parents, and we all discuss the relative merits of leashing your children.
