79. Big T Trauma and Little t trauma with Maria Altamirano

What would you do if you were suddenly moved to another country, without preparation, without saying goodbyes, without knowing what to expect in this new foreign place you are supposed to call home? 

Even though it sounds like the plot of a reality TV show, this was Maria Altamirano's reality.

Maria moved from Ecuador to the US when she was 8 years old.  However, her parents told her they were just going on a family vacation to Disney.

Little did she know the way in which her world was about to change.  

While many may not initially think of this experience as 'traumatic', Maria explains how this impacted her for years to come.
