The Beatitudes

DISCUSS:

What does it mean to be poor in spirit? How does recognizing ourselves as spiritual beggars affect the way we live each day?

What does it mean to mourn our sin? What is the blessing for someone who mourns their sin?

Is meekness the same as weakness? Why or why not? What does it mean to give God a black check for your life?

How does God satisfy those who hunger and thirst for righteousness?

How does peace play a central role in the Bible? Why is the gospel called the gospel of peace? How can we be peacemakers?

Why is persecution an unavoidable part of the Christian life? What does persecution produce for the believer?

How does our relationship with God and our relationship with one another give us the ability to live the blessed life?

PRAY:

Pray that you will faithfully live the blessed life (the Beatitudes).
