Standing Firm

READ: 2 Thessalonians 2:13 – 3:5 • Ephesians 2:4-5 • Psalm 19:9-11 • Colossians 3:16 • Mark 16:15 

DISCUSS: 

• Describe a time when the truth of God’s Word relieved you of fear and worry? Why is it important for us to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word?  

• How does recognizing our identity in Christ provide us with the security necessary for living victoriously for Christ?  

• How can Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonians inform the ways we pray privately and corporately? How does prayer bring God’s people together…even those suffering in other parts of the world?  

• Discuss the process of preaching the Word, receiving the Word, and proclaiming the Word. Why must the Church do all three to ensure that it’s gospel-centered?  

PRAY: Pray that whatever situation you are going through that you can stand firm in the Lord and hold onto the truth of His Word.  RESPOND:  Commit to pray for yourself and others to have a faith that is grounded, guarded and growing.
