READ TOGETHER:

Hebrews 11:1-2 • Hebrews 11:7

DISCUSS:

• If someone asked what the definition of faith was, what do you think you would say? How is it different from

• What are some examples from the past (from your own life, your family, your friends, or Scripture) of God’s faithfulness that give you hope for the future?

• Christian philosopher Dallas Willard once said: “We don't believe something by merely saying we believe it, or even when we believe that we believe it. We believe something when we act as if it were true.” What are some teachings of Jesus that feel most difficult to believe lead to the “good” life?

• What is something you can ask your community to help you process when it comes to faith?

• If you could imagine what one step forward in faithfulness would be for you, what it would be?

• Christian Author and Professor, Karen Swallow Prior once said: ““A faith that never feels challenged is most likely dead”.” - Share a time your faith has been challenged, and how it was overcome.

PRAY:

Pray for each request in your group who requested support in processing. Pray for The Ridge and our community for increased faith as we step into the future.

PRACTICE (on your own):

Here’s a list to maybe get you started but your next step is including, but not limited to, the following. These are just examples of how you could potentially practice these.

Sabbath — take a whole day, or a half day once a week. Just to stop and focus on rest and worshipping God. Show faith that you trust His provision.

Prayer - Take your hurts and doubt to God daily. Show faith you believe God is active in your life by praying each morning this week.

Simplicity - Can you go 21 days without buying anything but food and fuel? Show faith God can make you content by not wedging more material in your life

Hospitality - Share a meal with someone you want to encourage this week.

DIVE DEEPER (on your own)

Read Genesis 5-9, Hebrews 11, Habakuk 2, Proverbs 11

What are the connections between faith, wisdom, and righteousness in these passages?

Thanks for listening in to The Ridge's Sunday Audio podcast! Although we hope you are greatly blessed by listening to this message, we also believe it's important to belong to a local body of believers. If you live in our area, we would love to worship with you on Sunday mornings at 8:00a, 9:30a, or 11:15a!
