1)India's Prime Minister Modi Coming to White House: On Thursday June 22, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be hosted by President Biden for an Official State Dinner at the White House, the singular highest honor granted any foreign head of state. It's only the third State Dinner hosted since President Biden took office. Why is India getting the royal treatment?
2)CAATSA --An American Failure?: The 'Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act' (CAATSA) was signed into law by President Trump on Aug 2, 2017. It was designed to restrict trade with Russia, North Korea and Iran in military equipment and sensitive technology which might be used for military purposes. It applied secondary sanctions on countries who bought military equipment from these American adversaries. Has CAATSA been effective?
3)Is The US Security Alliance With Egypt Broken?: As everybody knows, the US security relations with Saudi Arabia have soured, leading Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to court new partnerships with Russia and China. But what about Egypt? Is the 40 year old US- Egypt security partnership still solid?
4)Israel-China Technology Cooperation: Israel is one of China's top partners in technology development. And US is trying to get Israel to restrict tech transfer to China. Is this a problem? Why?
