1)Biden Makes His First Presidential Visit to Asia: Last weekend and earlier this week, Pres. Biden made a trip to South Korea and Japan and ended with a meeting of the "Quad" including those countries leaders and India. Much of the focus was on North Korea and China, but also on US trade relations w/ Asia. Was it worth the trip?
2)Is Russia's War in Ukraine Creating a Worldwide Food Crisis? The Russians are blocking Ukraine's shipment of 20 million metric tons of grain already harvested and ready to ship through Black Sea ports This is causing world food prices to go up, and in certain areas of the world severe famine to spread. Is Russia financially benefiting from this blockage?
3)Who is Benefiting from the Energy Crisis Caused by Russia's Invasion of Ukraine?: The price of gasoline in US is hitting $5/gallon and price of futures contracts for natural gas are going up. Crude Oil is over $120 per barrel. And we don't have enough domestic fracking and refining capacity to meet our short term demand. Is anyone benefiting from these higher prices?
4)Should Russia be Thrown Out of the World Trade Organization?: We have economic and banking sanctions on Russia, but it is still a member of the WTO. Now Russia says it wants out. Why?
