Canadian Trucker Demonstration, Russia-Ukraine Crisis, North Korea Missile Tests - Retired US Diplomat to 5 different nations David Hunter shares his knowledge, passion, interest, and experience.
1) Canadian Trucker Demonstration: In Ottawa, Canada, approximately 500 semi-truck cabs are parked around the Parliament Building and other areas of Canada's Capitol city. The truckers are supposedly demonstrating against requirement that they show a Covid vaccination paper to drive across the border into the USA. They feel this is an unlawful mandate, so are staging a 'truck-in' demonstration. US right wing groups are supporting this effort. Does this constitute US interference in Canada's domestic affairs?
2) Russia-Ukraine Crisis: Today the Russians have massed over 130,000 troops on Ukraine's border, while repeatedly claiming they do not intend to invade. This military buildup has led to Pres. Macron of France flying to Moscow for an urgent meeting w/ Putin. And Germany's new Chancellor Olaf Scholz just met on Monday with Pres. Biden. Biden said in his followup joint-press conference: if Russia invades Ukraine, the NORDSTREAM II pipeline deal is dead. What does all this mean?
3) North Korea Missile Tests: The North Koreans conducted seven missile tests in January 2022. That is the most tests since back in 2017, when it was also tested nuclear bombs. Some expect Chairman Kim Jung-Un to resume such nuclear testing in coming months. Why is he doing all this now, and what should be the US response?
