1) Why are Russia and China Conducting Joint Military Exercises? :  The  "Joint Sea 2021  Exercises"   in Russia’s Peter the Great Gulf  started on Oct 15th for five days. As reported the Military Times,  the drills included communications, anti-mine, anti-air and anti-submarine operations, joint maneuvering and firing on seaborne targets. For the first time China sent anti-submarine warfare planes and destroyers for exercise abroad. What does all  this mean?

2)  Why Is Russia Selling S-400 anti-missile defense systems to India?  :  China was the first foreign buyer of Russia's most advanced S-400 Triumph surface-to-air missile systems, but now India is buying them too.  And the US just granted a waiver to India, so it will not be punishing India for buying them.   What is going on?  
 
3)  Why Is Barbados Ditching the Royal Queen Elizabeth?:   On the 55th anniversary of independence from England, Barbados is  the first Commonwealth realm in nearly 30 years to declare itself a pure Republic and remove Queen Elizabeth II as it's Head of State. She was currently titled 'Queen of Barbados'.  Was England's Royal involvement in the Slave Trade to blame?

 4)  On Dec 9-10, 2021  Pres. Biden will host "The Summit For Democracies":   It will be a virtual summit  of leaders from nations that are democracies and offers an opportunity to engage with a diverse range of actors who support strengthening democratic systems of government around the world.  Is such a summit really necessary?  What could go wrong?
