The Value Ladder is a tool that helps identify the real motivating factors behind the things people say they want to be, do, have, and achieve. Without first identifying what might be behind those motivations, achieving something just for the sake of achieving becomes a futile and time wasting experience.
Blaine talks about Maslow's hierarchy of needs and how The Value Ladder relates to human motivation. First we must satisfy certain basic needs before moving to the next level of motivation. This is true in business as well. Listen in and be ready to take notes. This exercise can be very revealing!
