6-18-25 Why Oil Prices Are On the Rise

Oil prices are on the rise in response to the current turmoil in the Middle East. Will this feed into higher inflation? The cure for higher oil prices is higher oil prices because it crimps off demand. The Fed has been concerned about inflation from tariffs, but that hasn't been the case. Now, the spectre of hotter inflation is rising with oil price increases; however, this all must be put into context: a longer view of oil price oscillations have not seen much of a spike. We may see a small increase in inflation, but not nearly to the degree the media would have you believe. When the Iran-Israel conflict ends, oil prices will slide back down.
