Learning is Much More Than Consuming Information

Here’s the crux of self-education, especially in the internet age: consuming information does not equate to education. 

If you’re like me, you grew up in an education system that rewarded regurgitation of information.  So it’s no wonder that we approach self-education, especially with the access the internet gives us to said information, the same way. 

Heck, there’s even a saying that “knowledge is POWER”!

No it’s not. 

Just knowing things doesn’t amount to learning. Just consuming information doesn’t grow your proficiency and capability.  You can to develop your critical thinking facilities and also apply the things you’re learning

Otherwise, you’re just cutting yourself short.
