Today on The Rant we have a special guest, John Awtrey! Creator of the cartoon series “Swampy and Fangs” Pretty funny show, I really enjoy it.  You can catch all the new episodes and content on TIk Tok and instagram.  How are you John? 

John is a pretty talented creator, I don’t really know how else to put it because that's kind of what you are doing right now is creating this show Swampy and fangs but I don't think you are a cartoonist or comedian it's like, you just sort of create interesting stories… thoughts? 

You have excellent insight in to movies and shows, and you see things from a perspective that maybe the average viewer does not which is always fun to talk about its great to hear your opinions of something that's recently came out.  Do you have any future plans to maybe try to write and produce something like a movie? 

I definitely love movies and Tv shows, and much like you I tend to have an opinion and I like to break them down a little, maybe not in the same way as you.  But nonetheless  thats why I really wanted to have a segment where you would come on and we could break down some movies and shows together.  

Today we are gonna talk about the disney plus TV show “The Book of Boba Fett” 

For those of you that dont know the Book of boba fett is created by John Favreau, and stars 

Temuera Morrison as bobba fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand.  The story starts off where Star Wars episode six ended, well around that time as we see Bobba Fett in the Sarlac pit and him basically crawl out of it, and then proceed to lay claim to Mos Espa as a crime lord of such… That's the jist of it. 

My Thoughts: 

• John Favreau and Dave Feloni create great characters. 
• I appreciate the detail they put toward the cannon and things beyond just the movies, including the comics and the clone wars animated series. 
• The special effects and overall visuals were great. 
• I felt the plot or the overall story had great characters, but the story itself was just boring and really did not make a lot of sense.  
• The Story line took way too long to develop for what we got out of the end of that season. 
• I felt like the Mandalorian story was what Bobba fetts story should of been… Explain
• The Main character Bobba fett does not feel like a strong character that is important.  He feels more like the side kick then then the superhero:
• Afterall two of the last three episodes did not even feature him, and featured a more popular character from a different series… that felt awkward, and even more awkward that the episode featuring only the mando, was the best one! And that goes back to my previous point that the mandalorian story was bobba fetts story and this is just content with his name attached it… it doesn't align with what you would expect his character to act like. 
• He  isnt a leader, he does not lead anything, not really. He spends the first half of the season being explained how it works being Diamo by fennec Shand, and for that matter she pretty much calls all the shots and just agrees.  We saw this in the final episode as another example, the scooter gang chick basically was like “You could retreat to your castle, but you should stay here in this bar and fight amongst the people”  even though its clearly a suicidal plan he just goes “Ok we stay” like… alright… 
• John Favreau needs to hire an expert on combat.  Explain 
• John Favreau for all the good hes done, I think this was his first flop but I dont know if its all his fault.  Afterall it isnt just him.  
• Disney is no longer in the business of making good movies/shows. Explain. 
• Star wars will continue to suffer under Disney, until eventually the fans loose interest and then they either sell it off or just stop creating content. 
• Bobba fett with this story line did not need a show, he should of just been a side character like in Empire, in the show the Mandalorian.  
• Either John Favreau had literally no good ideas, or they are assuming we are just mindless children that will accept anything with star wars attached to it thrown at us.
