In this episode, we are joined by independent economist Tony Alexander to discuss what he thinks will happen to interest rates over the next year (and beyond).
This includes a prediction that longer-term rates have already peaked and are currently on their way down.
He also suggests that the 1-year rate is at (or very near) its peak and will likely be around 6.25% by the same time next year before dropping back to about 5.25% the year following.
This depends on what happens to inflation and the Reserve Bank's actions.
