"I just woke up and I was incredible on stage!" said the so-called public speaking expert. Um, I'm going to have to disagree. 

Maybe that is the journey some people experience when they hop on stage, behind the camera, or nail their first interview. But that wasn't my experience. 

I've had a gradual progression of stage presence throughout my life that - I believe - has prepared me for the world we're living in today where a "stage" could be showing up live using your phone. 

In today's episode, I'm walking you through my evolution of speaking on stages and how each milestone has played a pivotal role in my journey. There are some pretty braggadocious opportunities I've had in the last 12 months and then some are so embarrassing that I'm trying to pretend I don't really know the younger version of myself.

But each stage has been an opportunity for me:

• an opportunity to figure out my message
