People ask me all the time, "What's the secret to a successful podcast?" And then I get weird looks when I answer with one simple word: consistency.

Yup, it really is that simple.

Think about it. A listener gets all excited about your show. "They're content is incredible! It's changed my life! I can't wait for more..."

But then, you decide to take a week off.
"Well, maybe that was a fluke. I hope they're okay." They decide to listen to another show.
You take a second week off.
"Hmm, that's not like them. I wonder if there are any other podcasts about [INSERT YOUR PODCAST TOPIC] that I can check out instead."

Of course, they find another one - because podcasts have grown significantly in recent years- but they're still holding out on the change that your show resurfaces.

Four weeks later you come back to your show with an attitude of, "I'm here! My audience is going to be so excited that I'm back with a new episode!"

Only, they've moved on. They switched over to a podcast host that shows up for them - sometimes multiple times a week.

I know that this theory is kinda getting into the psychology of dating and friendships, but I believe that's how you should treat your podcast audience - like an important relationship in your business.

So, let's dive into the theory of consistency and how you can show up for your podcast audience.
