The following podcast is a conversation with one of the most admired fiction writers in the Philippines, often refered to as the Queen of Horror Stories, Ms Yvette Tan.
We talk about her books, her creative processes, her singkit third eye, some ghost stories, and her stints with the paranormal.
We then had a long discussion about agriculture and farming when I learned that she had extensively covered the field as a journalist. The conversation brought out many of my fondest, childhood memories and thoughts growing up in a rural farming town. So I might have been carried away a little bit.
We also discuss the Neil Gaiman scandal and shared our thoughts about the MeToo movement and cancel culture. Yvette and I also touched on other topics like being ostracized for being a nerd, ube, the decline of print media, and many others!
