Who is Gill Bennett,

a qualified nurse of 50 years, says "a patient is not a patient, they are an individual with something wrong with them. Care is about looking after people in the whole - emotional as well as medical"

My passion has always been encouraging positivity and the right care/treatment for people and particularly those who are disenfranchised. I was trained to understand the needs and wants or individuals and what good care looks like. I have seen older people in their 90’s independent and categorised as not being able to make their own choices due to their age, same with people with learning disabilities and it makes me angry.

A nurse for 50 years with experience in paediatrics, cardiac and occupational health and still practicing.

Forced an Enquiry into the abuse and care of learning disabilities service in 1994, at huge personal cost.

Trained nurses in China, practice and encourage alternative and spiritual therapies.
