The Father

The Father is the last Oscar-nominated movie and the only best picture nomination that we never heard of. We gave it a whirl and it's a beautifully haunting portrayal of dementia in our elders. It's also the first horror movie to be nominated for Best Pictures. Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman give a performance of a lifetime in this. If you just want a super existential sad we highly recommend watching this movie about your last days through the eyes of a dementia patient.
