The Man Who Invented Christmas is another take on The Christmas Carol but from the perspective of Charles Dickens. This movie portrays Mr. Dickens, Dan Stevens, as a man who just loves giving all his money away! Too much so that he has to ensure his latest Christmas novel is a hit or else his family will fall farther into crippling debt. It's soo much pressure!

Basically The Man Who Invented Christmas is a retelling of the story of a Christmas Carol because Charles Dickens writes the book in a linear fashion. It is weird and not how most books are written, but we'll forgive it. Plus Ebeneezer Scrooge comes to life as Ian McLellan Christopher Plummer who talks to him about his internal struggles.
