Many years ago, when I was starting my career, I was advised by an older orthodontist that I shouldn't wait as long as most people do before starting my own practice.

Today, I echo back that advice to younger orthodontists.

Don't wait till you think you are ready; take a risk and bet on yourself. I guarantee you that it'll work out just fine.

If you are a dentist, an orthodontist, or some other professional, the odds of failing are very minimal.  

Even for older orthodontists, be very willing to risk your capital for the right opportunities in your professional career.
