Obligatory Movie Game Podcast 3: Spider-man

In this episode, Devon sits down with Quentin Friesen to discuss the tie-in video game for Sam Raimi’s first Spider-man film from 2002. With the new Spider-man film releasing in December 2021, we decided to revisit the original Spider-man movie game that features voice acting from Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe and Bruce Campbell. There were many Spider-man games before this one released to Gamecube, Xbox and PS2, and there have been many since, but this is the first Spider-man game that was based on a live action film, and Devon and Quentin break down the ways in which it nails and fails its beloved source material. Does it make sense that they stuffed this game with villains that weren’t actually in the film? Is the slightly different ending of the game actually a pretty big deal?
