BOYG 17: Brandy Jones vs. Children’s Books, Harry Potter, and Indigenous Representation in Film/TV

In this episode Devon sits down with Brandy Jones (painter) to discuss the ultimate 90s combination of having a trampoline and a Nintendo 64. Brandy shares her love for the Harry Potter movies, and  Devon and Brandy discuss growing up alongside the Harry Potter characters/actors as the movies became a little darker. They take turns highlighting their favourite children’s books from their childhoods, and Brandy talks about creating art for different functions and different spaces. She also describes the special brand of satisfaction she gets from disassembling thrift-shop music boxes, before reflecting on the importance of indigenous representation, and indigenous perspectives in film/TV.
