BOYG 16: Darryl Dozlaw vs. Monty Python, Atari 2600, Philip K. Dick and Christmas Media

In this episode, Devon sits down with his dad, Darryl Dozlaw (host of CFCR’s Spin Class with the Reverend, member of Oscar’s Hollow and Bewildernest) for a geeky chat over the holidays. They discuss some of their favourite books, movies, and music, highlighting things that they’ve passed on to each other over the years. Since it’s a holiday special, they start off talking about Christmas episodes and somewhat obscure Christmas records, before moving into the regular categories. From there they look at how collecting vinyl has changed from its heyday through to its resurgence in popularity, and they try to pinpoint what it is about Philip K. Dick’s stories, and their movie adaptations, that strike a chord with musicians. They talk about dense and challenging, yet rewarding literary epics, and some of the simplest, yet most iconic video games from the Atari 2600. It’s a double Dozlaw geek out!
