Those who control the words that are used in dentistry, control the mind of the dentist, dental team, and unfortunately the patient. The verbiage on estimation of benefits, or EOBs, are often times damaging to the doctor/patient relationship, make the front office look incompetent, and can simply damage the patient trust in a dental office. Words that are used have meaning, even when those words are misleading, or flat out dishonest. Dental teams need to push back, and call-out dental insurance companies when these tactics are used.
