How to love your home even if you don't love your house

Living in a house you aren't super jazzed about can affect how you feel about your home overall. Our houses are dwellings, but our homes are a feeling. We carry them with us wherever we go. How do we go about loving our homes when we don't exactly love the dwellings we're in?
