The friend noted that Kohberger had undergone a dramatic transformation in high school, losing a significant amount of weight and adopting an intense interest in criminal psychology and law enforcement. While the friend recalled no signs of violence, he did mention that Kohberger often felt isolated and developed a fascination with serial killers and forensic investigations. The friend expressed shock over the murder charges but acknowledged that, in hindsight, some of Kohberger’s behavior seemed unsettling.
