US Navy SEAL sniper JP Dinnell was awarded a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars with Valor and the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for his leadership and courage under fire, serving in Task Unit Bruiser, the most highly decorated Special Operations unit of the Iraq War. Today, he's the Director of Experiential Leadership at Echelon Front, the world's premier leadership training company, working with Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. He brings his exceptional experience and unique perspective of frontline leadership, learnt from years in from combat, to show us how we could commit fully to a winning mindset in the battle of life.
  • When JP left the military after a great career of service he hit hard times. How bad was his situation?
  • Jocko Willink and Leif Babin approached JP to do some work for Echolon Front. What does he remember about that period?
  • What was his internal dialogue through this period?
  • The amount of work he put in to learn Leif's speech in order to hopefully get a job with Echelon Front.
  • JP runs a typical day working construction, pizzas at night, ju jitsu, learning, family?
  • Commitment. How hard was it mentally for JP to suck up his identity as a SEAL to be a pizza delivery guy?
  • How did he navigate the changing of identity through that period?
  • How did Jocko instil belief into JP?
  • SEALs are taught not to run from the hard stuff. What, even today, does he find himself wanting to run from?
  • Plato taught Aristotle " the first and best victory is to conquer self." What has JP not conquered about himself?
  • Discipline is rooted in the truth you tell yourself.
  • JP struggles with brain issues & being able to focus. Where is he at today?
  • JP can hit a target at 500 yards, a target 2 1/2 inches, yet still has challenges with focus.
  • Did the way he saw his brother and sister have an impact of how he saw himself, his identity?
  • How did Commander Seth A. Stone impact his life and his mindset.
  • What's JP's superpower?
  • What is commitment not?
  • 1000 rounds at 3 to 5 rounds at a time, why?
  • What does this teach us in our day to day life?
