The need to control life is one that comes up a lot in the work that I do with my clients.

It's a subject that we have talked about quite a bit over the last few weeks in The School Of Me Hub (my free community for women who are on a journey of self-growth - http://bit.ly/2ky8yCx).

What do I mean by the desire to control life?

Let me ask you these questions:

  • Do you struggle to trust others to do tasks'the right way' and feel compelled to do things for them?
  • Maybe you hover over your partner when they cook a meal?
  • Or you get tempted to take control of your child's homework when it's not up to your standards?
  • Perhaps you re-write reports prepared by your team at work to make them 'just right'?
  • Do you believe that having a plan and organising life helps you to keep your worrying at bay?
  • Do you find it impossibly frustrating not to know what the outcome of life situations will be: will your child make the team? Will your project be successful? Will your family Christmas happen just the way you imagine it?

Then this episode is for you.

I explore why we have the desire to control life and the impact that it has on our life. I share tips on how to loosen our grip on life to feel happier.

Because the truth is, our desire to control life is controlling us.
