In today's episode, I am joined by Laurin Conlin. Laurin is an IFBB Pro Bikini competitor and the owner of Team LoCoFit. She earned her B.S. from Florida State University and her M.S. from the University of South Florida, both in Exercise Science. She continues to serve as a research assistant to Dr. Bill Campbell’s Physique Enhancement lab at USF.
Laurin has worked through the struggles of eating disorders, years of competing as a physique athlete, and managing her health while continuing to learn more and educate clients through the process.
In this episode we discuss:
-Is a meal plan or tracking macros better?
-Rigid restraint vs flexible approach for dieting.
-How this has changed her approach to coaching clients.
-Her history of eating disorders.
-Why competing to get "in shape" isn't a great idea.
-Why always trying to lean out hurts your long-term progress.
-Importance of building muscle in getting the physique you want.
-Fat loss considerations for females vs. males.
