I knew it all along.  I’m talking about the link between childhood trauma and menopause symptom severity.  What do you do when nothing else works?  Tried HRT?  Insomnia came back!  Tried diet and lifestyle? Didn’t cure my hot flushes!  Sometimes we need to look deeper.  Beyond the obvious.  Stubborn menopause symptoms are a sign that there’s more going on under the surface and if you’re reading this (and nodding along), I have answers for you that may come as a surprise.  Researchers from the Mayo Clinic have found a link between childhood trauma and severe menopause symptoms. I guess we knew it instinctively but it's nice to have the evidence to support.   In today’s Menopause Mindset Podcast episode we look at what trauma actually is (hint: it's not just abuse or neglect) and how it makes meno worse.   And then I lay out 7 things that you can do to help yourself if you've experienced trauma in the past which you think might be making your menopause worse.
