Sybil is Founder of Independent Venue Week a 7-day celebration of gigs on a national level with collaboration at the heart. Independent Venue Week is now in it's 8th year and for the first (and probably only) time was online this year due to the pandemic.
She has also co-owned a venue (Moles Live Venue), managed an artist, appeared on many panels including for SXSW, BBC Radio 1 and Liverpool's Sound City as well as appeared in interviews for BBC 6Music, Radio 5 Live, Radio 1 Newsbeat and many more!
In this episode, we talk about the journey of Independent Venue Week as well as the relaunch of their community led project YES WE CAN promoted through Community Interest Company CAN YOU CIC IT which is aimed at helping young people who want a career in music, on and off the stage.
We look at the types of opportunities we may see opening up in a newly formed live sector and Sybil shares some all important career advice.
