Has decorating for Halloween become a competition? When I was growing up, most people just craved a jack-o-lantern and perhaps stuck a candle inside. If you had kids, you might tape a few cardboard ghosts, pumpkins, or black cats to your doors and windows. Today that isn't even really decorating for most people.
