Choosing to be a stay at home mum can feel like the most misunderstood decision of all.
Desreen Ahanonu is a lifestyle, fashion and motherhood creator who has built a loyal community by sharing her journey with honesty and grace. After walking through her husband’s cancer diagnosis just before their wedding, and later becoming a mum of two under two, she made the choice to press pause on career opportunities to be fully present at home. For Desreen, ambition did not disappear but took on a different shape.
In this episode, Desreen opens up about the tension between social media’s version of success and what it means to thrive at home, the cost and reward of her decision, and how prayer and conviction guided her through it. We talk about identity, sacrifice and what it really means to live with ambition in motherhood.
This is a conversation about challenging stereotypes, embracing seasons, and widening the definition of success for women everywhere.
