42. The Spy in the Bag Part I

On a hot August day, police are called to the residence of a man who has been absent from work for the past week. They find his flat empty, except for a large red holdall which has been padlocked from the outside. When they open the bag, a horrifying sight confronts them: the body of the missing man. The man’s death is later declared accidental. But just how could anyone padlock themselves inside a holdall? Furthermore, was the man’s job as a British government codebreaker key to his demise?
