The Substance (2024)

This horror movie was written, produced and directed by Coralie Fargeat and stars Demi Moore, Margret Qualley & Dennis Quaid. In this film, an aging actress begins to reflect on her younger days, so much so that she accepts this black market drug that is supposedly said to replenish her youth. However, when a brand new younger version of her comes to life, the battle for supremacy goes down a dark & destructive path. This movie was debuted on the Cannes’ Film Festival in May of 2024 before hitting select theaters in the US & UK in September. Despite Fargeat’s French background, the film has not been released in her native country just yet. She did however, take home the Award for Best Screenplay at Cannes’.
