Anora (2024)

This film was written, produced, edited & directed by Sean Baker and stars Mikey Madison. In this film, a stripper in New York meets a high profile Russian guy from a prominent family and the 2 fall in love but their relationship is put to the test when the guy’s mother finds out about it. This film debuted at the Cannes’ Film Festival in May of 2024, where it won the festival’s highest award, the Palme d’Or. It hit theaters nationwide on October 18, 2024 & went won to win 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director & Best Actress for Madison’s performance.
