Faith in Violence (Reformation, Columbia special service)

I was asked to speak at this service of healing in the wake of another the slaying of police officers and the more unarmed black men on behalf of Bishop Yoos. The topic was a response to violence in faith. What I realized is that in order to respond faithfully we most first put down our faith in and faithfulness to violent ideology. How can we put down the sword and take up the cross?
