14. Enjoy the Process with Leonardo Castro

In this episode, you’ll meet Leonardo Castro, a professional busker originally from Peru, but with a charm and curiosity that transcends flags and borders.

This episode was recorded in both Leo and I’s natural habitat, the street, so you’ll be immersed in the natural sounds of the Melbourne CBD as we talk our way into understanding the life of this incredible professional busker. Respectfully, Leo agreed to have this conversation in English which isn’t his preferred language for discussing things that are deep and of great importance, so a big thanks to Leo for sharing his story with us English speakers!!

We go deep in this one. Leo talks about being brought up in a Mormon household and idealising a life with Mormon values until the life he dreamed of failed to become reality. When he realised that life wasn’t going to be the story he imagined it would be, he decided that life was only going to be what he made of it and set off on a journey to busk his way around the world.

So many great lessons in this episode! We should aim as much as possible to live in the now, enjoy the process and whatever we do, we must avoid idealising and romanticising the things, situations and people in our lives or we risk breaking our own hearts.
