We know this episode is coming fast on the heels of our last one and it’s not posting on our usual Friday, but we wanted to make sure we got this up before the end of the year! This week, Jen and Martinique talk to Tish Hayes, Information Literacy Librarian at Moraine Valley Community College and one of the organizers of the Information Literacy Summit, a day-long conference in the Chicago suburbs focused on information literacy. We discuss the history of the Summit, some of the challenges of planning it, what the organizers see for the future, what they are looking for in proposals for 2019, as well as how we all are grappling with the idea of news literacy (the 2019 Summit theme) at our own institutions. Jen and Martinique love this conference, and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing about what goes into planning it. Have a listen!
