We sit down with Licensed Counselor Kauri Tallant and do a deep dive into Enneagram Type 6 from a personal and professional viewpoint. You don't want to miss the wisdom for the type 6 in all of us that is shared in this episode!
Tips from Kauri (Type 6): Try to avoid the Enneagram caricature of classifying anyone with anxiety as a Type 6. Because of the efficient way that many 6s have learned to manage stress, when they look most together, they may be struggling the most.
Major Quote: “In a broken, fallen world, anxiety is really helpful to warn us about threats. I don’t want to take anything to get rid of my anxiety, I just want it to be calibrated in a way that is helpful to me and others".
How to show love to 6s: Ask the 6 specific questions about how they are doing and be willing to provide the time and space to give them a chance to process their answer without feeling rushed. Check in with 6s to make sure they are doing okay. Don't be dismissive of their anxieties and recognize how their anxiety is often related to wanting the best for everyone, and not just about their personal needs.
