Katie and Hope sit down with Mary's husband, Attorney Matthew Poston, to geek out on Enneagram Type 5. Some of the wide-ranging topics include the ideas of competency, engaging in debate, and what 8s and 5s have in common.
Major Quote: “Why are you associating your 'I' with the thinking portion?”
Tip: If a 5 has agreed to do something, they have predetermined they have the resources to do so. Exercise can be a very helpful practice to allow the 5 to engage with their body vs spending so much time in their head.
How to show love to 5s: Understand time alone is not a reflection about the status of a relationship, but a need to be alone to process. Give 5s time to process and realize that we enjoy thinking and sometimes want to be left alone to engage in this.
