Margie Ireland is a leadership expert, a keynote speaker, a practising psychologist, and the author of the book called “The Happy, Healthy Leader”. Seeing her friends struggle with leadership and burnout inspired her to start "The Happy Healthy Leader", a fun and proven professional development framework, based on her 25 years of commercial experience as a leader, and evidence-based research over the past 10 years as a registered psychologist. 

In this episode, Margie talks about her struggles with anxiety and how she overcame them through acceptance commitment training. Rather than trying to change her thinking and invalidating her feelings, the process starts with acceptance and compassion towards the experience, which leads to a healthier relationship with herself. 

The whole premise of “The Happy Healthy Leader” is to focus on yourself first, and then focus on what's outside you.
