040. What We Learnt in 2021

In today's episode we reflect back on Season 1 of The Leadership Project and consider deeply what we learnt together in 2021.

2021 and Season 1 of the podcast was an amazing success and we would like to thank all of our guests who came on the show and shared their amazing wisdom and insights.

We personally learnt a lot from each of our guests.  This lead us to apply some of those learnings to how we produce the show and conduct the interviews.  It is also reinforced to us the importance of our vision and inspired us to keep doing what we do.  At the same time, each interview brought something new.  Challenging our thoughts as well as reinforcing our values.

Today's episode highlights the key learnings into consistent themes that continued to emerge as follows:

Diversity, inclusion and bias

We had several of our guests including the "inspiring women at Cubic", Sulin Lau, Dr Alessandra Wall, Anne Parmer, Gary Williams, Corey Patrick White all shared their insights around diversity inclusion and unconscious bias.

Purpose, Meaning and Impact

Zach Mercurio, Kim Abbott, Lisa Partridge, Anne Parmer, Dr Alessandra Wall, and Gary Williams all brought to our attention the purpose of having purpose and meaning in what we do and how to find your purpose and how to celebrate your uniqueness.

Understanding How People Learn

Lee Prosenjak, Ryan Sanders and Adrienne Tilley-Lefevre opened our eyes to the importance of understanding how people learn and what this could mean to our leadership style and how we communicate

Deep Listening

The incomparable Don Campbell introduces us to the world of deep listening and how to listen with an open mind; open heart and open will.

Relationships

The amazing David Nour, bestselling author of the groundbreaking book Curvebenders shared with us the importance of investing in relationships.
