THE SHIELD OF FAITH IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Devotional Message:

Scripture: “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” – Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)

In the battles of life, not all attacks are visible. The enemy often sends fiery darts—thoughts of fear, doubt, discouragement, or temptation—designed to weaken your resolve. But God has given you a mighty defense: the shield of faith. This shield is not a small, decorative piece; in ancient warfare, it was large enough to cover the whole body. Likewise, when you hold up your faith in God’s promises, you are fully protected. Faith refuses to accept the enemy’s lies and boldly declares, “God’s Word is true, no matter what I see or feel.”

Faith is not passive—it’s an active trust that God will do what He said. Each time you choose to believe His Word over your circumstances, you lift your shield higher. And as you do, every fiery dart—whether it comes as anxiety, temptation, or hopelessness—loses its power to harm you.

Remember, your faith is your defense. The enemy cannot penetrate a heart and mind fully shielded by trust in God.

Today, Ask Yourself: Am I lifting my shield of faith daily, or am I leaving myself exposed to the enemy’s attacks?

Prayer:
Almighty Father, thank You for the shield of faith that protects me from every attack of the enemy. Help me to trust Your Word fully and lift my shield daily. I choose to believe You above my circumstances, knowing that You are my defender and victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
