Devotional Message:
Scripture: “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” – 2 Timothy 1:6 (NKJV)
Each believer carries a unique gift from God—something planted deep within by the Holy Spirit for His glory and the good of others. In 2 Timothy 1:6, Paul urges Timothy to stir up that gift, to fan it into flame. This is a call not to neglect or bury what God has placed inside you, but to actively develop, use, and protect it.
Your gift may not look like someone else’s, but it is no less significant. Whether it’s teaching, serving, encouraging, creating, leading, or comforting—God gave it to you for a reason. But like a fire left unattended, your gift can grow cold if ignored. That’s why you must be intentional: pray over it, sharpen it, and use it faithfully.
Stirring up the gift within is also a reminder that God’s Spirit empowers you. You're not alone or unqualified. What He has deposited in you carries divine purpose and potential. It’s time to stop doubting and start moving in obedience, trusting that He will multiply what you offer Him.
Today, ask yourself: Have I allowed my gift to lie dormant? How can I fan into flame what God has placed inside me?
Prayer:
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift You’ve placed within me. Forgive me for the times I’ve neglected it or doubted its worth. Help me to stir it up with boldness, use it with faith, and grow it for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
