EVERY GIFT COMES FROM ABOVE

Devotional Message:
Scripture: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” – James 1:17 (NIV)

Everything truly good in your life—your breath, your talents, your loved ones, your opportunities—is a gift from God. James 1:17 reminds us that these blessings don’t come by chance or by our own strength, but from a faithful and unchanging Father. He gives not randomly, but intentionally and lovingly.

Unlike the world, which is full of inconsistency and shifting values, God is constant. His gifts reflect His nature—pure, purposeful, and perfect in their timing. Even when you don’t understand the season you’re in, you can trust the Giver who never changes. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it.

Recognizing that every gift is from above cultivates gratitude and humility. It shifts your heart from entitlement to worship, from worry to trust. Instead of focusing on what you lack, fix your eyes on the Giver who has already blessed you beyond measure—and who delights in giving more as you walk with Him.

Today, ask yourself: Am I truly thankful for the gifts God has given me? How can I honor the Giver with what I’ve received?

Prayer:
Almighty Father, thank You for every good and perfect gift in my life. Help me to see Your hand in every blessing and to live with a heart full of gratitude. Teach me to use what You’ve given me for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
