CALLED OUT OF DARKNESS

Devotional Message:
Scripture: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

God has not only saved you—He has called you out. Out of darkness. Out of shame. Out of confusion and into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 declares a powerful truth about your identity in Christ: you are chosen, royal, holy, and dearly loved. You are not who you once were.

Being called out of darkness means that your life is no longer defined by your past, your failures, or your fears. God has transferred you into His kingdom, where you now walk in truth, grace, and freedom. And with that new identity comes a new purpose: to declare His praises—to be a light that points others to Him.

You are not invisible or insignificant. You are God’s special possession, set apart to shine. Even when the world feels dark, you carry the light of Christ within you. Don’t hide it. Let it illuminate your words, your actions, and your choices.

Today, ask yourself: Am I living in the light of who God says I am? How can I reflect His light in a dark world today?

Prayer:
Almighty Father, thank You for calling me out of darkness and into Your wonderful light. Help me to walk boldly in the identity You’ve given me. Let my life shine with Your love and truth so that others may come to know You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
