Crystal Nyman is a Philadelphia Hair Stylist. Originally from The Pacific Northwest, she ventured out east to play softball for Temple University fresh out of high school. Through success, trial, injury, and exploration Crystal has navigated the path of self-discovery with inquisitiveness, creativity, and love for others. Crystal is kind, understanding, and full of wisdom waiting to be tapped at any conversational moment. In this episode, Miss Nyman and I discuss her journey from sports to becoming a Stylist, profundities learned about ourselves through growth and change, we talk about social media and its influence on the creative process, fame and being an influencer, expanding our views of one another, operating a brand, changing artistic narratives through technological growth, artistry in today's connected social atmosphere and learning to honor oneself. Crystal shares stories of growth through psychedelic journies, family love, her experience and changes with ADHD medication, adjusting to being a personal care worker in times of covid, holding mental and emotional space for her clients, taking care of herself emotionally and physically to best show up for others, pushing away from her comfort zone, following intuition and finding encouragement for others. We talk growing at different rates, creating yourself, choosing courage, self-sovereignty, elevating others, and getting after it for you and only you.

A notable quote from the episode -
"No one is going to do anything for you. If you want something, nobody is going to get it for you. It's hard because sometimes it feels like "I don't have the resources" or " I don't have the knowledge of that" or "I'll never be able to read enough to know the business side of things" - whatever it is - you have everything within you to get what you want. So don't limit yourself because of what you THINK you aren't capable of. If you want something, go get it."
